Kia Syros EV Revealed: Everything You Need To Know About

Kia Motors has finally unveiled the Syros EV ahead of its launch later this month. Positioned just below the Carens Clavis EV, it is set to become Kia’s most affordable electric offering in India. So, if you’re also eyeing a compact electric vehicle that doesn’t compromise on safety and comfort, here’s everything you should know about the Syors EV: –

Kia Syors EV: Battery, Powertrain and Range

The Kia Syros EV shares its battery pack options with the Carens Clavis EV and Creta Electric. That said, it is being offered with two battery pack options: 42 kWh and 51.4kWh, claiming a range of 443km and 526 km, respectively.

The Korean EV also supports 100kW DC fast charging, which can juice up its battery pack from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 39 minutes.

Kia Syors EV: Design and Dimensions

Based on the K1 platform, the Syros EV looks identical to its ICE counterpart inside and out. The only difference you see a charging port on the front fender instead of a traditional fuel filler port at the rear of the car. Besides, everything else remains the same, with key design bits include vertically stacked squarish segmented projector headlamps, signature boxy stance, thick wheel arch cladding, flush door handles, black roof rails, blacked-out A, B and D pillars, and L-shaped LED tail lamps.

Speaking of the dimensions, the Syros EV is 3995mm long, 1805mm wide, and 1670mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2550mm.

Kia offers the Syros EV in nine colour options, namely: –

  9. Matte Graphite (exclusive to X-Line variant)

Depending on the variant, there are three dual-tone cabin themes available: Cloud Blue & Grey, Onyx Black & Off-White and Onyx Black & Hunter Green.

Expected Price & Competitors

The Kia Syros EV is likely to be priced between Rs 13 – 18 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the sub-compact electric SUV would rival the VinFast VF6, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, XUV400 EV, Tata Nexon EV, and the MG Windsor EV.
