Kia Sonet To Get Anniversary Edition Soon; Brochure Leaked

Kia India launched the Sonet sub-4m SUV on September 18 last year. Now that it has completed one year of sales, the brand will be launching a special anniversary edition of the Sonet in the coming days. While Kia is yet to reveal its launch date, details about the product have already leaked on the web.

As revealed in the leaked brochure images, the Sonet Anniversary Edition is likely to be based on the HTX variant and will receive a host of cosmetic changes. The exterior highlights will include Aurochs front, side & rear skid plates with Tangerine accents, special 1st Anniversary Edition badging, and Tangerine color highlights on the grille, alloy wheels, and side door garnish.

Changes inside the cabin are unknown at the moment, but we expect it to get some additional features over its standard model.

It will be available in four colors – Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Grey, Silver Steel, and Glacier White Pearl.

The Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition will be offered with 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol (120PS/172NM), paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT and a 1.5-liter diesel (up to 115PS/250Nm) that will be available with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission options.

As per the brochure, the anniversary edition will be sold till March 2022, and existing owners of the Sonet HTX variant will not be able to convert their car to the anniversary edition at dealerships

Considering all the tweaks, the new Sonet HTX Anniversary Edition is likely to carry a significant premium of around Rs 40,000 over the standard HTX trim, which currently retails between Rs 10.39 lakh to Rs 12.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It could be a good choice for those who want their car to stand out from the crowd.
