Kia Carnival Gets A New Range-Topping Limousine Plus Variant At Rs 33.99 Lakh

As we have reported back in August, Kia India has launched the updated Carnival with a variant rejig. For starters, the brand has introduced a new range-topping variant, called the Limousine Plus. But before we head to the details, first have a look at the revised prices of the premium MPV: –

As evident from the above table, the mid-spec 7-seater Prestige variant of the Kia Carnival is now Rs 54,000 more expensive, whereas the 7-seater Limousine trim gets a huge price cut of Rs 1.96 lakh. This reduced pricing comes at some features loss. That said, features like an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual 10.1-inch rear-seat entertainment system, ventilated driver’s seat, a 10-way power driver seat, electronic parking brake, and tire pressure monitoring are now exclusive to the newly introduced Limousine Plus variant. Meaning, the Limousine trim will now come with all the features of the Prestige variant along with new premium leather VIP seats, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO connected car technology, an air purifier, auto-dimming IRVM, and a single 10.1-inch rear entertainment system.

No changes have been made to its design save for the introduction of a new brand logo.

The Kia Carnival continues to be driven by a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine (200PS/440Nm) that comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

2021 Kia Carnival prices

Currently, the Kia Carnival doesn't have any direct rival in the Indian market. However, it could be seen as a premium alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta. The brand is also expected to launch the fourth-generation Carnival in India by 2022.
