Kia Carens Crosses 1.5 Lakh Sales Threshold In 27 Months

Launched in February 2022, the Kia Carens has crossed 1.5 lakh domestic sales. It took the Carens just 27 months to achieve this milestone. This remarkable achievement highlights the vehicle’s popularity and strong market presence. Here’s a look at some of its interesting statistics: –

  • Consumer Preference: 50% of consumers prefer top and mid trims featuring Sunroof, Multi Drive Modes, Ventilated Seats, and Kia Connect.
  • Powertrain Demand: Petrol powertrain is the top choice with 57% demand, followed by diesel at 43%. Manual transmission is preferred by 62% of customers.
  • Sales Contribution: Carens accounts for approximately 15% of Kia’s monthly domestic sales and has exported close to 17,000 units.

It now accounts for approximately 15% of our monthly domestic sales, and we are confident that its popularity will only grow in the coming years. Kia Carens Sales

Currently, Kia retails the Carens in 10 broad variants: Premium, Premium (O), Prestige, Prestige (O), Prestige Plus, Prestige Plus (O), Luxury, Luxury (O), Luxury Plus and X-Line, priced between Rs 10.52 lakh to Rs 19.67 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India).

Kia offers the Carens with three engine options: 1.5-litre petrol (115PS/144Nm) paired with a 6-speed manual, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (160PS/253Nm) mated to either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic), and a 1.5-litre diesel (116PS/250Nm) which comes with an iMT gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

In the Indian market, the Carens faces competition from the Maruti Ertiga, XL6, Mahindra Marazzo and Toyota Rumion. It can also be seen as an affordable alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross.
