Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R Launched At Rs 8.49 Lakh

Adding more excitement to India’s sub-500cc segment, Kawasaki has finally launched the Ninja ZX-4R supersport in India at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs 1.33 lakh more expensive than the Ninja 650. Certainly, it comes at a huge premium, but offers exceptional performance. Here’s a quick rundown of its all traits: –

  • At the heart of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is the 399cc, inline-four cyclinder, liquid-cooled engine producing a whopping grunt of 77PS at 14,500rpm and a peak twisting force of 39Nm at 13,000rpm.
  • The overall output can be increased to 80PS with ram air system that comprises special scoops/air ducts in the front fairing to catch and direct the oncoming high pressurised air into the engine’s intake that enables it to breath more efficiently, leading to increased engine output and performace, espically at high speeds.
  • The power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed gearbox with assist & sliper clutch that ensures smoother shifting and prevents rear wheel lockup during hard deceleration or downshifts.

  • Braking is handled by 290mm twin discs at front clamped by four-piston calipers and 220mm single disc with single-piston caliper at the rear, assisted by dual-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS).
