Kawasaki Ninja 400 Takes Its Final Bow in India

Kawasaki has formally discontinued the Ninja 400 in the Indian market. While it was previously announced that the bike would be succeeded by the new Ninja 500. However, despite the arrival of the new model, the iconic Ninja 400 remained on sale as Kawasaki sought to clear existing inventory. Now, the bike has been removed from the brand’s official website, marking the end of its era in India.

For those unaware, the Kawasaki Ninja 400 underwent significant updates in 2022 to comply with the stringent BS6 emission norms. Equipped with a 399cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, it delivered an impressive power output of 44.8 BHP @ 10,000 rpm and torque of 37 Nm @ 8,000 rpm. Paired with a smooth 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch, the Ninja 400 offered enthusiasts a thrilling riding experience.

As a completely built-up unit (CBU) import, the Ninja 500 comes with a price tag of Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning itself as a premium contender in the market.

In the fiercely competitive segment, the Ninja 500 faces off against formidable rivals such as the Yamaha R3, Aprilia RS 457, and the KTM RC 390. With its blend of performance, style, and cutting-edge technology, the Ninja 500 is poised to make its mark on the Indian motorcycle landscape, carrying forward the legacy of the iconic Ninja series.
