JSW MG Motor India Delivers 101 Windsor EVs In Bengaluru

JSW MG Motor India announced the delivery of 101 units of the Windsor EV by MG Jubilant Bengaluru. The EV also recently reached the milestone of becoming the first passenger EV in India to garner 15,176 bookings within 24 hours of the booking announcement.

MG Windsor combines the comfort of a sedan and the expanse of an SUV and is offered with an innovative aerodynamic design, spacious and opulent interiors, reassuring safety, smart connectivity, driving comfort, and many other hi-tech features. It is built on a ‘Pure EV Platform’ and offers a luxurious business-class experience. It gets a 38 kWh battery pack with a front axle-mounted motor producing 136PS of max power and 200Nm of peak torque. It has four driving modes: Eco+, Eco, Normal and Sport, offering a range of up to 332 kilometres on a single charge.

MG Windsor EV deliveries

The MG Windsor is being offered in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence; and four colours: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green. Its prices start at Rs 13,49,800 (ex-showroom). Under the unique Battery as a Service (BaaS) program, it is available at Rs 9.99 lakhs + battery rental at ₹3.5/km.

The Windsor is famed for its comfort, offering fully reclinable front seats and a 135-degree reclining backseat for added leisure. The other creature comforts include automatic LED projector headlamps, flush door handles, rain-sensing wipers, wireless smartphone charger, auto AC, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 9 speakers Infinity audio system, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, multi-colour LED ambient lights (with 256 colours), etc.

For safety, it gets six airbags, ESC, traction control, hill hold and hill descent assist, and a 360-degree camera. Head here for variant-wise feature details.

In the EV segment, the MG Windsor EV falls in the same price range as the Tata Punch EV. However, it can also be seen as a viable alternative to the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
