Jawa 42 FJ Launched At Rs 1.99 Lakh

After upgrading the Jawa 42 last month, Classic Legends has now introduced a new model to the 42 family – the 42 FJ, priced from Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Jawa offers the 42 FJ in five color options. The base model, Aurora Green Matte Spoke, is priced at Rs 1,99,142, while the alloy variant is available for Rs 2,10,142. The Cosmo Blue Matte and Mystique Copper options are priced at Rs 2,15,142. The top-tier models, Deep Black Matte Red Clad and Deep Black Matte Black Clad, are available for Rs 2,20,142 (all prices, ex-showroom).

The new Jawa 42 features the larger 334cc alpha 2 series engine, borrowed from the recently launched Jawa 350. This engine is tuned differently to align with the 42’s more youthful and dynamic character. This engine makes 29.2PS of max power and 29.6Nm of peak torque and comes equipped with a 6-speed gearbox with assist & slipper clutch that not only makes gear shifting smooth but also reduces rear-wheel hop during aggressive downshifting, improving overall riding control and comfort. In addition to the upgraded engine, the bike also sees enhancements in its chassis, offering more generous ground clearance and wheelbase for better riding dynamics.

Regarding design, the motorcycle sports diamond-cut alloy wheels, reminiscent of those on the 42 Bobber, and youthful graphics that prominently display the ‘Jawa’ logo across the fuel tank—a design approach that seems inspired by the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. The other notable highlights include bar-end mirrors, scrambler-like single piece eat with split grab handles, LED lighting system, and a fully digital instrument cluster.

Jawa 42 FJ specifications

Speaking of the underpinnings, the bike is based on the double cradle frame, suspended on 41mm telescopic fork and gas-charged twin shock absorbers. For anchoring, it comes equipped with disc brakes on both ends, with dual-channel ABS as a standard feature.

In the mid-size roadster segment, the Jawa 42 FJ competes with the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda H’ness CB350, Honda CB350 RS, and Hero Mavrick 440.
