Interior of Next-Gen Mahindra XUV500 Revealed In Spy Shots

The second-generation version of Mahindra XUV500 will probably be top on the waiting list of customers and auto enthusiasts. Recently, XUV500’s interior has been spied which will take your excitement level to the another step. As per the spy shot, the new XUV500 will feature a Mercedes like twin screen setup that comprises single housing system for the infotainment system and instrument cluster.

This type of connected layout is becoming the new normal. Currently, some models of Hyundai-Kia group, including newly launched Kia Sonet, Seltos, Hyundai Aura and Grand i10 Nios also features similar styled layout.

As the unit was partially covered, so we cannot comment on its size. But it seems bigger than the 10-inches. At present, the MG Hector features the largest 10.4-inch touchscreen in the segment. The infotainment is likely to get features like connected car technology, driving stats and wireless apple carplay & android auto smartphone connectivity.

What other features will it get?

Well, the interior image reveals that the new XUV500 will feature the dual-zone climate control and newly designed flat-bottom steering wheel. The previous spy images also exposes that the Mahindra XUV500 will also get the LED lighting system, a sleek six-slat grille, flush fitting like outside doors handles, newly designed 10-spoke alloy wheels and split LED tail lamps.

Mahindra XUV500 likely to feature radar based driver assistant system

The exterior images of the test mule also suggest that like the MG Gloster, XUV500 could also receive level-1 radar based driver assistance systems. The image shows a black square part in the lower grille and that could be a radar system. A front-facing camera can also be seen near the IRVM.

Mahindra marazzo

In 2019, Mahindra has joined hands with Mando Corporation of South Korea to procure autonomous technologies. The brand has also showcased Mahindra Marazzo at Auto Expo 2020, equipped with radar-based safety features such as autonomous emergency braking system, drowsy driver detection system, blindspot detection, lane keep assist, cross-traffic alert and attention detection, etc. Hence, we except some of these features will be given in upcoming XUV500. 

Expected Powertrain

Under the hood, it is likely to house a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre mHAWK diesel unit. Both the engines are also available with the all-new Thar but the XUV500 is expected to get these motors with better tunning.

Expected Price and Launch 

Mahindra is likely to launch the next-gen XUV500 in the first quarter of 2021. Its starting price would be close to the current model. Once launched, it will continue to compete with the likes of the MG Hector, Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and the upcoming Tata Gravitas.
