Hyundai Venue Facelift Spied For The First Time; Launch Expected By Next Year

Latest Update: 2022 Facelifted Hyundai Venue has finally been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 7.53 lakh. Click here for more details.

The facelifted Hyundai Venue has been spied for the first time in South Korea ahead of its global debut next year. While the testing mule was heavily camouflaged, it still reveals some cosmetic changes that have been made to the sub-4m SUV.

The front looks of the mule suggest that the updated Venue will continue to feature the same split headlamp setup as the ongoing model. However, the grille of the car seems to be redesigned. Unlike the facelifted Hyundai Creta, the updated Venue will continue to follow its ongoing design language.

The side profile of the updated Venue seems to be largely unchanged save for the newly designed alloy wheels. At the back, it gets new L-shaped LED tail lamps, replacing the existing rectangular units. Besides both the bumpers of the car are also likely to be re-profiled.

The interior of the car is yet to be seen, but we expect Hyundai to make minor changes and introduce a few new features.

Mechanically, the 2022 Hyundai Venue is expected to remain unchanged. Its Indian-bound model will continue to be available with three engine options – 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (83PS/114Nm) that comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 1.5-litre diesel mill (100PS/240Nm) borrowed from the Hyundai Creta get a 6-speed manual unit. On the other hand, the more powerful 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine (120PS/171Nm) comes with three transmission choices: a 6-speed manual, a6-speed iMT and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The facelifted Hyundai Venue is expected to make its way to our shoes in late 2022 (after the arrival of the upgraded Hyundai Creta). Once launched, it will continue to go up against the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Honda WR-V, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and Mahindra XUV300.
