The Hyundai Tucson has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP in its recent rounds of crash tests. The Korean SUV has scored 30.84/32 points for adult occupant protection (AOP) and 41/49 points for child occupant protection, resulting in a full 5-star rating for both aspects. The Hyundai Tucson comes loaded with safety features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat anchors, a 360-degree camera, front & rear parking sensors and Level-2 ADAS technology, comprising advanced active safety techs like adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, high beam assist and much more.
Powering the Hyundai Tucson is either a 156P/192NmS 2-litre petrol or 186PS/416Nm 2-litre diesel engine, mated to an automatic transmission. While it comes with FWD as standard, the oil burner can also be had with an all-wheel-drivetrain.
Currently, the Hyundai Tucson ranges between Rs 29.02 lakh and Rs 35.94 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against the Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan and Citroen C5 Aircross.
