Hyundai Motors is planning to launch its N Line brand in India. For the people not in know, Hyundai's N Line badge belongs to the performance version of their dynamically sportier cars. To be precise, they get a more powerful engine, retuned suspension, improved steering & braking system along with spiffy aesthetics to suit the sporty persona of the car. If reports are to be believed, the i20 N Line will be the first offering under this label in the Indian market, and it is likely to be launched by mid-2021.
Like the European market, the Hyundai i20 N-Line is expected to get sportier-looking enrichment inside and out. Upfront, it is likely to don a new sportier bumper and a redesigned grille with an N-Line badge. On the side, it could get contrast side skirting and new 17/18-inch alloy wheels with low-profile tires & N-branded brake calipers.
The rear, on the other hand, is expected to get a sportier bumper with twin exhaust tips, blacked-out taillamps, and a WRC-inspired roof spoiler to complete the energetic exterior design.
Inside, the cabin is likely to boast all-black ivory with contrast color highlights. The N-line i20 could also get sports seats, an N-line steering wheel, an N gear knob, Sporty N metal pedals, and an updated instrument cluster.
Under the hood, Hyundai is expected to plonk either a more powerful 120PS 1.0-liter turbo petrol or a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol mill that churns out a huge power output of 204PS.
Hyundai will import 2,500 units of N line models without homologation. Depending on the customer's response, the Korean marker could even launch N-Line versions of the Nios, Venue, and other cars, and would start assembling them locally. The i20 N-line is expected to be priced around Rs 25 to 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
