Hyundai i20 Gets New Sportz (O) Variant; Check Price, Features Here

Hyundai India has launched a new Sportz (O) variant for its mid-size premium hatch, the i20, at Rs 8.73 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned between the Sportz and Asta variants, this new mid-spec trim is available with both manual and CVT automatic transmission.

Compared to the regular Sportz variant, the new Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) trim commands a premium of Rs 35,000, and gets the following additional features: –

  • Leather finish on door armrest
  • Single-pane electric sunroof
  • Wireless smartphone charger

Besides, it retains all the features of the Sportz variant. The key highlights include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 6 speakers, steering mounted audio & calling controls, height adjustable driver’s seat, idle start/stop system, digital instrument cluster, cooled glovebox, rear AC vents, and more.

Its safety kit includes six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill start assist, rear parking sensors, day/night IRVM, ISOFIX anchors, 3-point seat belts, and seatbelt reminder for all seats.

Powertrain

Powering the Hyundai i20 is a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes up to 88PS of max power and 115Nm of peak torque. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.

Speaking of its performance, this engine does well at city speeds, making commuting a breeze. However, it may feel a bit strained on highways or when pushing for maximum horsepower.

In the Indian market, the Hyundai i20 goes up against the Toyota Glanza, Maruti Baleno and Tata Altroz.
