Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Aura No Longer Available With Diesel Engine

They’ve gone! Hyundai Motors India has discontinued the diesel variants of Grand i10 Nios and Aura due to poor demand. Bookings for the same have also been stopped. However, interested customers can still contact their nearest Hyundai dealerships if they have any stock to clear and avail some dealer-specific benefits.

For those who aren’t aware, the 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, diesel engine of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Aura developed 75PS and 190Nm. It was offered with both a 5-speed manual and AMT automatic transmission and was known for its frugal nature, delivering a claimed mileage of over 25kmpl.

The diesel version of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios was offered in Sportz and Sportz AMT variants, priced between Rs 7.85 – 8.46 lakh (ex-showroom). Interestingly, it was the only diesel car in its class. Customers will now have to look for a segment-above hatchback if they want a diesel car. Talking about the Aura sub-4m sedan, its diesel version was being offered in S and SX+ AMT variants, priced from Rs 8.06 lakh to Rs 9.51 lakh (ex-showroom). With its discontinuation, Honda Amaze will now enjoy the distinction of being the only diesel sedan in its segment.
