Hyundai Alcazar Images Leaked Ahead Of Global Debut In April

Hyundai Motors is set to unveil the Creta-based Alcazar 7-seater SUV on 6th April 2021. Recently, the brand has released its official teaser sketches, revealing the exterior and interior design details. Now, some 3D images of the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar have emerged on the interwebs, giving us a clear look of the upcoming three-row SUV.

Hyundai Alcazar launch date

While the side and rear profile were already showcased through official sketches, the leaked pictures giving us an uncontaminated look at the front facia of the Alcazar, which also has some distinctive design elements from its younger sibling. Upfront, the Alcazar features a chrome studded grille that mixes well in the split headlamp unit. The bumper is also redesigned and features new fog lamps and silver skid plates.

From the side, it sports similar creases & character lines as the Creta. What differentiates it from its 5-seater counterpart is the new alloy wheels (possibly of 18-inches), a rear quarter glass panel and a large rear overhang and extended length to accommodate the third passenger row.

From the back, it looks like a completely different car, featuring an upright tailgate and new split-LED tail lamps that are connected by a thick chrome bar with ‘Alcazar’ inscribed on it. Hyundai has also redesigned the rear bumper that sports twin exhaust pipes and a silver skid plate. While these images don’t confer a sunroof, we assume the final SUV to be offered with a panoramic unit as its 5-seater model.

Hyundai Alcazar interior

Exposed by official sketches, the Alcazar will get a Creta-like dashboard layout, albeit in a black-brown colour scheme. It will come in both 6-and 7-seater configurations, with two captain seats and a unique floor-mounted central console for middle-row occupants, in the case of the six-seater model, whereas the 7-seater trim will get a bench seat in the 2nd row to accommodate three passengers.

While the features details are yet to be revealed, we believe Alcazar to retain most of the equipment from the Creta like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, BlueLink connected car technology, auto climate control, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, power-adjustable driver's seat, auto-dimming IRVM, in-built air purifier, wireless charger, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, Bose audio system, 6-airbags, etc. Besides, it could also get additional features like front parking sensors, a powered tailgate, AC vents and power sockets for the third row, and a 360-degree camera.

Hyundai Alcazar launch date

Hyundai is expected to offer the Alcazar with Creta's 1.4-litre turbo-petrol (140PS/242Nm) and 1.5-litre diesel engines (115PS/250Nm). Transmission options are also likely to remain unchanged – a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic for turbo-petrol and the option of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic for the diesel motor. Hyundai is not expected to offer the 115PS 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine available on the Creta.

The 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar is likely to be launched in May 2021. Except it to demand a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the regular Creta, which retails between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 17.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With this, it could serve as an affordable alternative to the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV500.
