Honda Recalls CRF1100L Africa Twin

Honda has announced a voluntary service recall campaign for its flagship adventure tourer, the CRF1100L Africa Twin. This recall aligned with the brand’s global action, covering select units manufactured between 2019 and 2025.

Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin: Reason for Recall

According to the company, an issue has been identified in the left handle switch harness, which may experience repeated bending due to continuous steering movement of the handlebars. Over time, this may lead to oxidation at the joint terminal of the harness wire, causing conduction issues. As a result, the horn may not sound, or there may be difficulty in switching the headlight from low beam to high beam.

To address the issue, Honda will begin free-of-cost replacement of the affected parts at its BigWing Topline dealerships across India, starting from the fourth week of January 2026. The recall campaign covers all affected units, regardless of their warranty status.

Customers will be contacted proactively via calls, emails, and SMS for inspection scheduling. Additionally, owners can independently check if their motorcycle falls under the recall campaign by entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on Honda’s official website.

To ensure a smooth experience, HMSI has advised customers to book service appointments in advance to avoid inconvenience or long waiting periods at dealerships.

Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin recall in India

The CRF1100L Africa Twin, Honda’s flagship adventure bike, has been a strong contender in India’s premium motorcycle market. With this recall, Honda reinforces its proactive stance on rider safety and reliability, aiming to strengthen customer trust and confidence in its premium offerings.

Currently, the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin is priced between Rs 15.97 – 17.51 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against the likes of the Triumph Tiger 900, Ducati Multistrada 950, and the BMW F 850 GS.

Honda Bikes and Scooters Are Now More Affordable

In other news, Honda has recently announced that it will pass on the full benefits of the recent GST cuts on scooters and motorcycles in the up to 350cc category, making them up to Rs 18,887 more affordable.
