Honda Officially Axed The 4th-Gen City, WR-V and Jazz

Honda has officially discontinued the 4th-gen City sedan, WR-V crossover and Jazz premium hatchback from its India lineup.

Reason of discontinuation

  • As a result of the new BS6 Phase-2 regulations, Honda was required to upgrade these models to the new emission standards, which the company found unprofitable due to their weak demand.
  • After the Brio was axed, the Jazz was the only hatchback available in Honda’s lineup, positioned against the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20. Now, this space is vacant.
  • The Honda WR-V was basically a rugged-looking crossover version of the Jazz.

  • The carmaker has no diesel model in its Indian lineup.
  • Prices of the Honda Amaze sub-4m sedan have gone up by up to Rs 12,000.
