Following the recent update of the Activa and Activa 125 with smart keyless operation features, Honda is now preparing to introduce the H-Smart variant to the Dio scooter as well. It is expected to be launched soon.
Honda Dio H-Smart – What To Expect?
Similar to the Honda Activa H-Smart, the Dio is also expected to receive a car-like key fob instead of a physical key, that provides a range of keyless functionalities, including the following: –
- Smart Unlock: Permits remote fuel lid and seat unlocking, as well as keyless lock/unlock of the handle within a two-meter range.
- Smart Start: It eliminates the requirement for a traditional key to start, as it features an ignition knob and a button to start the engine.
- Smart Find: Helps to locate the scooter in a parking lot if you are within 10 metres of the scooter.
- Smart Safe: A safety feature that automatically locks the scooter when you walk 2 meters away from it.
- Expect these features to be limited on the top-end variant of the Honda Dio.

- Mechanically, we don’t expect any changes. It will continue with the 109.51cc air-cooled engine that makes 7.76PS and 9Nm.
- We anticipate the Dio H-Smart variant to command a premium of Rs 2,000 over the ongoing DLX variant, which currently costs Rs 72,626 (ex-showroom).
- The sporty Honda Dio faces competition from the likes of the Hero Xoom 110 and TVS Jupiter SmartXonnect variant.
