Here's A Sneek Peek Into The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cabin

There is no secret that Maruti Suzuki is working on a facelift version of the Baleno to stave off the competition spread in the premium hatchback segment. While we have already spotted the upcoming hatch during testing but now a recent YouTube video exposed a more plush-looking cabin of the upcoming Baleno, giving us a clear view of its new floating infotainment system and a flat-bottom steering wheel.

The interior of the new Maruti Baleno has been completely overhauled. What stands out from the latest spy shots is the new free-standing infotainment system that seems like a fairly large unit (probably of 8-inches) and gets a new user interface. Unlike the current model, the central aircon vents are now horizontally oriented and positioned below the infotainment unit. Another striking element is the new layered dashboard design with a silver applique in the centre.

Additionally, it also receives revised dials with a coloured multi-info display (MID) and a new 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel that it has borrowed from the Maruti Swift. While the whole dashboard design looks pretty up-to-date, it will actually remind you of the Tata Altroz.

The new Maruti Baleno is also expected to get a bunch of new features that could include wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, connected car tech, and rear AC vents.

Powering the upgraded Baleno might be the ongoing 83PS 1.2-litre K12B petrol and 90PS 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engines. The latter also comes with a mild-hybrid system for improved fuel efficiency. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an optional CVT automatic transmission for the less powerful motor.

Maruti Suzuki is likely to launch the new Baleno by the next year at a significant premium over the ongoing model that retails between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 9.45 lakh (both ex-showroom). On its arrival, it will rekindle its rivalry with the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and the Toyota Glanza
