Hector To Get Level-1 Autonomous Tech In Indonesia, Will MG Motors Also Launch This In India?

MG Motors has recently launched the facelift avatar of Hector SUV in India. Now, MG's parent company SIAC is gearing up to launch a new top-spec RS variant of Hector in Indonesia, where it is sold by Wuling Motors (another subsidiary of SIAC) under the moniker of Almaz. Recently, the Wuling Almaz's upcoming RS variant has been spied with a radar module in the bumper and on the windscreen, suggesting the presence of MG’s Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

Details about Hector/Almaz's ADAS system are not available at the moment, but we have already seen this tech in the MG Gloster SUV, and hence, we expect it to come with level-1 autonomous safety features such as adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and auto park assist.

Besides this, we can also notice some cosmetic enhancements in comparison to the Indian-spec Hector SUV. These changes mainly include a blacked-out treatment to the headlamp and DRL covering, redesigned black-finished grille, black colored sporty skirting on the front bumper along with red elements on both bumpers. The cabin looks similar to the facelifted Hector model. However, we can also expect minor visual differences inside as well.

Will MG also offer ADAS tech with Indian-spec Hector SUV?

Well, there is no official confirmation regarding this, but considering the next-generation Mahindra XUV500, we expect MG to offer this feature in the Indian-spec Hector SUV too. For now, MG Motors has given Hector a facelift update with a redesigned front grille, bigger alloy wheels, glossy black finishing on the tailgate, and a new dual-tone cabin theme along with a few features’ additions like ventilated front seats, a wireless mobile charger, Hinglish voice commands, and remote control via smartwatch, etc.
