Hero MotoCorp today has announced the price list of Harley-Davidson's 2021 range of motorcycles for the Indian market. The brand has strengthened H-D's product line-up with the introduction of the Pan America 1250 Adventure Tourer, which has been priced at Rs 16,90,000 for standard and Rs 19,99,000 (both prices ex-showroom India) for the Special variant. It is Harley's first adventure motorcycle, which will be brought as CBU (Completely Built Unit) to our shore. While the bookings of this American motorcycle have been opened, the deliveries are likely to commence from June 2021.
The Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 is powered by an all-new Revolution Max 1,252cc, V-twin liquid-cooled engine that comes equipped with computer-controlled Variable Valve Timing (VVT) on both the intake and exhaust camshafts that increases the overall powerband and improves torque management & efficiency, allowing the motor to produce both low-end grunts for acceleration off the line as well as the thrill of high-rpm horsepower. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and makes 152PS at 9,000rpm and 128Nm at 6,750rpm. Harley claims a range of 20.4 kilometers per liter with this ADV machine.
The bike also gets a plethora of electronic riding aids to ensure your safety as well as enhance the overall riding experience. This mainly includes traction control, engine braking control, torque slip control, lean-sensitive ABS, hill hold assists, and five riding modes (Road, Sport, Rain, Off-Road, and Off-Road Plus). Besides, the Special variant also gets two additional custom riding modes, electronically adjustable semi-active front and rear suspension (comes with 5 pre-programmed profiles), Adaptive Ride Height (ARH), and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The other notable features of Pan America 125 ADV include an all-LED lighting system, C-type USB port, and a 6.85-inch TFT display that comes with a speedometer, gear indicator, odometer, fuel level, clock, trip meters, low temp alert, side stand down alert, TIP over alert, cruise, range and tachometer indication and Bluetooth enabled smartphone connectivity that allows accessing phone calls, music, and navigation.
As far as the underpinnings are concerned, the bike is based on high strength low alloy steel trellis frame, comprising a big V-twin as a stressed member. The frame is suspended by a fully adjustable Showa 47mm USD front fork and monoshock. On the other hand, the Special variant comes with 47mm Showa Balance Free Forks (BFF) and a Showa BFRC (Balance Free Rear Cushion-lite) rear monoshock, both electronically actuated semi-active units. Braking duties are taken care of by 320mm of dual front brake discs at the front and 280mm single rotor at the rear.
