Facelifted Honda Amaze Launching Next Month

Launched in 2018, the second-generation Honda Amaze is due for a facelift update which will be taking place in August 2021. It is one of the most successful models of the Japanese marker in the Indian market after the iconic Honda City. While the official details are yet to be revealed, the updated Honda Amaze is expected to get a few cosmetic changes both inside and out, along with some added features.

Changes on the exterior profile are likely to be seen in the form of redesigned bumpers, newly styled alloy wheels, and reworked headlamps that are expected to features LED units this time, at least in higher-spec variants. Honda may also offer new paint schemes.

Inside the cabin, the sedan could receive new seat upholstery, an updated infotainment system, new dashboard trims, and a segment-first electric sunroof. 

Honda is unlikely to make any changes on the mechanical front. It will continue to be available with the ongoing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-liter diesel units, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. For the people not in know, the petrol engine of the Honda Amaze generates 90PS of maximum power and 110Nm of peak torque, while the diesel engine makes 100PS/200Nm with the manual gearbox and 80PS/160Nm with CVT.

The petrol version of the Amaze is claimed to deliver an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 18.6kmpl and 18.3kmpl with manual and CVT, respectively. On the other hand, the Amaze diesel is said to returns an ARAI mileage of 24.7kmpl with manual and 21kmpl with CVT automatic.

As for pricing, the Honda Amaze facelift will surely receive a slight premium over the current model, which ranges between Rs 6.22 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Once launched, the facelifted Honda Amaze will continue to lock horns with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura, and Ford Aspire
