Confirmed: Kia's Upcoming Three-Row SUV Will Be Called Carens

Latest Update: Kia Carens has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 8.99 lakh. Click here for details.

The latest spy shot of the upcoming Kia Seltos-based three-row MPV, which is set for its official unveiling on December 16, has confirmed that it will be known as Carnes. This Hyundai AlcazarĀ rival is expected to be launched in India in the first quarter of 2022.

We are thrilled to see what the production-spec version of the Kia CarnesĀ looks like. A plethora of spy images leads towards Seltos-inspiredĀ design with plenty of differentiating styling elements, especially at the rear. It’s recently leaked interior shot has also revealedĀ a whole lot of features, including goodies such as a touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, digital driver’s display, cruise control, and automatic climate control, etc.

We assume Kia Carnes to comeĀ with two seating configurations: a 6-seater with captain seats and a 7-seater with bench seats for middle-row passengers.

Under the hood, the Kia CarnesĀ is likely to employĀ the sameĀ 159PS 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol andĀ 115PS 1.5-litre diesel engines as its Hyundai counterpart, along with the same transmission options – aĀ 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Expect prices of the Carnes to start from around Rs 12 lakh, and go all the way up to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
