Citroen To Unveil Its First Electric Car On September 29; C3 EV?

A new teaser video has been released by Citroen India announcing the unveiling of its first electric car on September 29. It could be the electric version of the Citroen C3 cross-hatch.

The electric version of Citroen C3 will be based on the same modular CMP platform as its ICE version. It is likely to come with two battery pack options, including the 50kWh battery pack available with the global-spec available Peugeot e-208 that claims a WLTP-tested range of over 350km on a single charge. It is also expected to come with DC fast-charging capabilities.

As revealed by its earlier spied test mule, the Citroen C3 electric will look largely similar to its ICE counterpart. However, it could gets some EV-specific modifications, such as a closed-off front grille, differently styled bumpers, and a charging port, possibly on the front fender. It could also get some of those features, which are missing in its ICE version. These include a rear washer & wiper, rear defogger, day/night IRVM, electronically controlled ORVMs, and cruise control.

Expect the French carmaker to launch the C3 electric by end of this year or in early 2023, with prices starting from around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will lock horns with the upcoming Tata Tiago EV.
