Citroen India has finally made its entry into the rapidly expanding electric vehicles (EVs) space with the electric version of the C3 cross-hatch called the “eC3”. The electrified hatch comes in two variants: Live and Feel, and ranges from Rs 11.50 lakh to Rs 12.43 lakh (introductory ex-showroom), making it slightly costlier than the Tiago EV.

Compared to its ICE counterpart, the Citroen eC3 is up to Rs 5.52 lakh more expensive. For reference, the petrol-powered Citroen C3 costs between Rs 5.98 – 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Citroën has offered the eC3 electric hatchback with a 29.2kWh battery pack, providing an ARAI-claimed range of 320km on a single charge. It comes with a front-axle mounted single electric motor that makes 57PS of maximum power and 143Nm of peak torque, and enables it to accelerate from 0 to 60kmph in simply 6.8 seconds and offers a top speed of 107kmph. It gets two driving modes – ECO and STANDARD and gets two charging options: a 15A socket charger (0-100% in 10 hrs and 30 mins) and a DC fast charger (10-80% in 57 mins).
Features
As far as the features are concerned, the Citroën eC3 packs only essentials, such as a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four speakers, a digital instrument cluster, remote keyless entry, manual AC with heater, steering-mounted audio controls, height-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-front airbags, ABS with EBS and rear parking sensors. It also benefits from regenerative braking technology.

Warranty
Citroën is offering 7 years/1,40,000 kms warranty on the battery pack, 5 years/1,00,000 kms warranty on the electric motor and 3 years/1,25,000 kms warranty on the vehicle itself.
