BYD Atto 3 To Get A New Variant With Smaller Battery Pack

Ketsu Zhang, the Chairman & Managing Director at BYD India Pvt Ltd has shared a post on LinkedIn stating that 10th July will be a big day for their potential customers in India. While the EV maker hasn’t shared any other details, reports suggest that BYD will introduce a more affordable entry-level variant of the Atto 3 electric SUV, with a smaller battery pack. Interestingly, select dealerships have also started accepting its bookings unofficially.

As per the reports, the upcoming variant of the BYD Atto 3 is expected to come with a 50kWh battery pack instead of the existing 60kWh unit. We anticipate it to deliver a range of over 400 kilometres. Expect it to be priced from around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, the BYD Atto 3 is offered in two variants: Electric and Special Edition, priced between Rs 33.99 lakh and Rs 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Aside from the smaller battery pack, the base-spec Atto 3 is also expected to come with fewer comfort & safety features. For reference, the top-spec Atto 3 comes loaded with a 12.8-inch rotating infotainment with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 5-inch digital cluster, a 6-way powered driver’s seat, an 8-speaker sound system, wireless smartphone charger, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ESC, TPMS, and ADAS suite.

In the premium EV segment, the BYD Atto 3 serves as an affordable alternative to the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and KIa EV6.
