BYD Atto 3 Received Over 2,000 Bookings; Deliveries Now Underway
Deliveries of the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV are now underway. The first batch of over 340 units has been delivered by the carmaker. The EV got over 2000 bookings since the commencement of its bookings opened in October 2022.
Launched in November last year, the BYD Atto 3 comes in a single variant that is currently priced at Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It also received a new Limited Edition trim at the 2023 Auto Expo that is limited to just 1,200 units. It carries a premium of Rs 50,000 over the regular model.
Powering this electrified SUV is a 60.48kWh Blade battery pack, which transmits power to the front axle-mounted permanent magnet electric motor, rated at 204PS and 310Nm. The setup delivers an ARAI-claimed range of 521 kilometres on a single charger. It is also compatible with DC fast charging of up to 80kW, allowing it to juice up from 0 to 80 per cent in just 50 minutes. BYD claims that the SUV can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in only 7.3 seconds.
|0-100kmph (claimed)||7.3 sec|
|7.2 kW AC charging time (0-100%)||≈ 10 hrs|
|Fast Charging Time (0-80%)||50 min (via 80kW charger)|
Design-wise, the BYD Atto 3 looks quite futuristic, flaunting the brand’s Dragon Face 3.0 design language. In terms of features, it’s equipped with a free-floating 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, powered front seats, wireless smartphone charger, automatic AC, panoramic sunroof, 7 airbags, ESP, tyre pressure monitoring system and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite with active safety features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, auto-emergency braking, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.
In other news, BYD is planning to expand its footprint in the Indian market. It aims to open 53 touchpoints by the end of this year. The EV maker is also likely to launch the Seal electric sedan later this year, which was recently showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo.
