BMW has launched the Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition at a starting price of Rs 96.9 lakh (ex-showroom), featuring minor design tweaks, a new paint scheme and most importantly, a manual gearbox option catering to the thrust of auto enthusiasts.

Offered as a complete built-up unit, the BMW Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition commands a premium of up to Rs 5 lakh over the regular model.

At the core of this Bavarian roadster lies a six-cylinder, 3-litre, twin-turbocharged petrol engine that yields 340PS of max power and 500Nm of peak torque, good enough to hit the 100 kmph mark in just 4.5 seconds with the 8-speed automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the 6-speed manual gearbox, which is exclusive to the Pure Impulse Edition, takes 4.6 seconds for the same.
While the overall design of the Pure Impulse special edition looks similar to the standard model, it gets a newly designed 19-inch front and 20-inch rear staggered alloy wheels. It also gets red brake calipers, black mirror caps and gloss black shadowline elements over the doors for added appeal. Inside, the Pure Impulse Edition features an exclusive black-and-khaki dual-tone interior.
BMW offers the Pure Impulse Edition in two new body shades, namely, Sanremo Green and Frozen Deep Green.
In terms of features, the Z4 Pure Impulse comes loaded up to the brim, with key amenities including vertically oriented LED headlights, M Light alloys, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats with a memory function for the driver’s seat, 6-color ambient lighting, a coloured heads-up display, a wireless smartphone charger and an electrically retractable soft top.
Its safety net comprises six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), a tire pressure monitoring system, optional parking assist, and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite with active safety techs like active cruise control and lane keep assist.
