BMW R 1300 GS Launched In India At Rs 20.95 Lakh

The BMW R 1300 GS adventure motorcycle has been launched in India at an introductory price of Rs 20.95 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in five variants – Light White, GS Trophy, Triple Black 1, Triple Black 2, and Option 719 Tramuntana.

Design and Features

Based on an all-new metal sheet main frame and die-cast aluminium sub-frame, the 2024 BMW R 1300 GS boasts a sleeker and more aggressive design, featuring slim body panels that reduce its weight by 12 kg compared to the R 1250 GS. Notably, BMW has replaced the iconic asymmetrical headlight with a modern X-shaped LED matrix headlight.

BMW has also equipped the bike with a TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, heated grips, a tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control, four riding modes (Eco, Rain, Road and Enduro), a traction control system, hill hold, and a keyfob for keyless operation support.

Underpinnings

The suspension system of the R 1300 GS features an EVO-Telelever front suspension providing 190mm of wheel travel and an EVO-Paralever rear suspension with 200mm of wheel travel. For anchoring, the ADV comes with a 310mm dual front disc with 4-piston radial callipers, a 285mm single rear disc with a 2-piston floating calliper, and dual-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS). It rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels, fitted with 120-section front and 170-section rear tubeless tires.

Regarding dimensions, the new BMW R 1300 GS has a seat height of 850mm and a fuel tank capacity of 19 litres.

Powertrain

Powering this big-bore adventure motorcycle is an all-new 1300cc, liquid-cooled, flat twin engine that belts out an output of 145PS at 7750rpm and 149NM at 6500rpm, making it 9PS and 6NM more than the R 1250 GS. It comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-&-assist clutch.

The BMW R 1300 GS claims a top speed of over 200 kmph.
