BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Gets A New Black Shadow Edition At Rs 43.50 Lakh

Bayerische Motoren Werke aka the BMW has launched a new Black Shadow Limited Edition for its entry-level sedan, the 2 Series Gran Coupe in India. Based on the 220i M Sport trim, the new Black Shadow Edition is priced at Rs 43.50 lakh (ex-showroom), and only 24 units of this special edition will be available in our country that can be booked via BMW’s online retail platform.

The BMW 220i Black Shadow Edition is Rs 1.6 lakh more expensive than its regular 220i M Sport variant. For this added premium, it gets BMW's individual high-gloss shadow line package that is originally worth Rs 3.25 lakh. That said, it features gloss/matt black treatment on the front grille mesh, side mirrors, tailpipes, 18-inch forged Y-spoke alloy wheels with floating hubcaps, and M Performance rear spoiler.

BMW has offered the limited edition in two colour schemes – Black Sapphire (metallic) and Alpine White (non-metallic)

The cabin, on the other hand, remains largely unchanged. It is being offered in the same dual-tone Sensatec Oyster and Black leather upholstery with key features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice assistant & gesture control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, sports seat with memory function, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control with air purification technology, 6-color ambient lighting, reversing assistant with a rearview camera,  ISOFIX child seat mounts, six airbags, ABS with brake assist, cornering brake control, traction control, dynamic stability control, four driving modes (Eco, Pro, Comfort, and Sport), etc.

Powering the BMW 220i M Sport Black Shadow Limited Edition is the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine as the standard M Sport variant that churns out 190PS of maximum power and 280Nm of peak torque. It propels the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). BMW claims it can rush from 0-100kph in simply 7.1 seconds.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe challenges the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine in India, which is currently priced from Rs 41.55 lakh to Rs 43.58 lakh (ex-showroom India).
