The Bharat NCAP has recently crash-tested the Thar Roxx, XUV 3XO and XUV400 EV. All aced the protection tests, scoring a solid 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection. Interestingly, the Thar Roxx scored the highest points among all ICE offerings tested by the BNCAP so far. Here are the details: –
Mahindra Thar Roxx Safety Rating
- Crash Test Ratings: The Mahindra Thar Roxx received a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP for both adult and child occupant protection. Tested variants include the base-spec MX3 and mid-spec AX5 L.
- Safety Features: Standard across all variants are six airbags, three-point seatbelts for all seats, ESC, ISOFIX anchors, and a passenger airbag cut-off switch. Top-spec variants include ADAS features.
- Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): It scored 31.09/32, making it one of the highest AOP scores by Bharat NCAP. It showed excellent protection for the head and neck, adequate for the chest and knees.
- Child Occupant Protection (COP): It achieved 45/49 points, tied with Tata Punch EV. It got full marks in dynamic and CRS tests; child dummies positioned in ISOFIX-secured seats.
Mahindra XUV400 EV
- Crash Test Ratings: The XUV400 has also received a 5-star rating. It achieved 30.38/32 in AOP, slightly surpassing the Nexon EV. For COP, it scored 43/49, with top marks in dynamic and CRS tests.
- Safety Features: Both EC Pro and EL Pro trims of the XUV400 EV have ESP, ABS, rear disc brakes, TPMS, and ISOFIX. Entry trim offers two airbags, while EL Pro includes six.
Mahindra XUV 3XO
The Mahindra XUV 3XO earned a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, tested on the AX7 L and MX2 variants, with the rating applicable to the entire lineup. For, Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), it scored 29.36 points out of 32, while for Child Occupant Protection (COP), it received 43 points out of 49, highlighting strong safety for both adults and children.
