Bajaj Pulsar N160 Gets New Single Seater, Dual-Channel ABS Variant

After launching the single-seat variant of the Pulsar N160 earlier this year, Bajaj Auto has now introduced another single-seat variant with dual-channel ABS. It has been priced at Rs 1,25,722 (ex-showroom), making it Rs 3,000 more expensive than its single-channel ABS counterpart.

Pulsar N160 VariantsPrice (Ex-Showroom Delhi)
Single SeatRs 1,22,720
Single Seat, Dual-Channel ABS (NEW)Rs 1,25,722
Split SeatRs 1,26,669
Inverted ForkRs 1,36,992

The single-piece seater offers better comfort and more space for the pillion. Unlike the split-seat version that features separate grab handles, this new variant gets a single-piece grab rail. Apart from these, there are a few feature differences as well.

Here’s a quick glimpse at the other specifications and features of this new variant: –

  • Suspension: 37mm telescopic upfront and a monoshock at the rear.
  • Brakes: 300mm front and 280mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS.
  • Tyres: 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres (100-section at front and 130-section at rear).
  • Dimensions: 165mm ground clearance | 795mm seat height | 14-litre fuel tank | 1358mm wheelbase | 154kg kerb weight.
  • Engine: 164.82cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine | 16PS at 8750 rpm and 14.65Nm at 6750 rpm | 5-speed gearbox.
  • Key Features: Bi-functional LED projector headlamp, LCD instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, call/SMS alerts, low fuel warning, and a USB charging port.
  • Rivals: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Hero Xtreme 160R, Suzuki Gixxer 155 and Yamaha FZ-S Fi V4.

Compared to the top-spec variant, this new trim misses out on features like USD forks, ABS-based three riding modes and turn-by-turn navigation assist.

Author’s Take

With the launch of dual-channel ABS, the Single Seat version has become more value for money, especially for those who prioritise comfort over looks, with no compromise on the safety front. While it is a minor update, it would have been better if Bajaj had also introduced features like turn-by-turn navigation and USD fork.
