Bajaj Chetak Lineup Updated With New Features; Prices Revised

Bajaj Auto has updated its entire Chetak range with a host of meaningful updates, including new features, higher top speeds, and revised naming structure. The refreshed lineup aims to offer better performance, improved usability and a more streamlined variant strategy for buyers. Here are the details: –

  • Revised Nomenclature: Bajaj Auto has added a “C” suffix to their names. With this, they are now called C3501, C3502, C3503, C3001, and C2501. This makes them in line with the recently introduced C25. The hierarchy remains largely the same as before.
  • Increased Top Speed: The top speed of the C3501 and C3502 has increased to 80 km/h, while for the C3503 & C3001, it is now 70 km/h (up from 63 km/h). The C2501’s top speed has been boosted to 60 km/h from 55 km/h.
  • Enhanced Power: The motor on the C3501 is now more powerful than before, making 4.8kW, up from the earlier 4.5kW.
  • Faster Charging: The C3001 can now be charged from 0 to 80% in just 2 hrs 55 mins down from the earlier 3 hrs 50 mins.
  • New Features: –
    • The C3501 now supports full Google Maps navigation via the Chetak smartphone app. However, this is an optional feature by the TecPac, priced from Rs 3,000, depending on the variant.
    • The C3501 and C3502 now support OTA (over-the-air) update functionality, so that you can remotely update your scooter to fix bugs and enable new features, eliminating the need to visit the service centre.
    • Riding modes (Eco & Sports) and hill-hold assist features are now part of the standard package for the C3001 and C2501. Earlier, these were optional extras.

With these updates, Bajaj has strengthened the Chetak’s position in the growing electric 2-wheeler space. However, we believe the naming structure could be simpler, as the current one is quite confusing.
