German automaker Audi has announced the launch of the facelifted iteration of its flagship saloon, the A8L, on July 12, 2022. Pre-launch bookings for the upgraded sedan are already underway at Rs 10 lakh. Once launched, it will go up against the BMW 7 Series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Audi will offer the new A8L in two variants: Celebration and Technology. Powering the new sedan will be a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine (340PS/540Nm), paired with a 48V mild-hybrid technology. Transmission duties is taken care of by an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox driving all wheels of the car. Globally, Audi also offers the A8L with 4.0-liter V8 TFSI petrol and a TFSI e plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Design-wise, the 2022 Audi A8L comes with a new chrome finished single frame grille, flanked by digital Matrix LED headlamps. The brand has also tweaked its bumper design for a distinct appeal. At rear, it gets sleeker LED taillamps with a light bar stretching the width of the car.
Inside, the epitome of luxury gets an updated MIB 3, 10.1-inchtouchscreen infotainment head unit, a full TFT virtual cockpit instrument console, 8.6-inch touch-controlled panel, and dual 10.1-inch screens for rear-seat passengers. It also gets a folding centre console table, cooler with a bar compartment and optional Rear Relaxation package that features reclining seats, foot massager, etc.
