Ather’s New Electric Family Scooter Spied Testing – TVS iQube Rival

With the increasing demand for electric scooters, Ather Electric is gearing up to launch another scooter, this time catering to family buyers. Recently, it has been spotted testing in Bengaluru.

What Do Teaser Images Reveal?

  • At first glance, the upcoming Ather scooter looks quite familiar to the TVS iQube.
  • Unlike the ongoing Ather 450X range, which exudes a sporty appeal, this new scooter boasts a more conventional design. It features a flat floorboard that extends to the sides, acting as a pillion footrest.

  • On the harmony of practicality, the scooter boasts a large, single-piece seat for family purposes, along with a practical-looking grab handle at the back. The handlebar also appears to be positioned at a comfortable height. One also notices the foldable footrest on the left side, which is highly useful, especially for ladies who sit sideways.
  • The notable bits include alloy wheels with disc brakes, sturdy-looking mudguards, a sleek LED tail lamp, stylish mirror stalks, curvaceous rear-end lines, and a concealed belt drive system.

Technical specifications of the upcoming Ather family scooter are still under wraps, but we expect it to offer a real-world range of over 90 kilometers on a single charge. Additionally, we anticipate that it will borrow its features from the Ather 450S, including a non-touchscreen 7-inch LCD display with turn-by-turn navigation support, a reverse mode switch, three riding modes (Smart Eco, Ride, and Sport), auto turn indicator off, side stand indicator, FallSafe, park assist, Emergency Stop Signal and auto-hold functions.

Expect Ather Electric to launch this family scooter in early 2024, positioning it against the likes of TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak.
