Amo Jaunty Plus Electric Scooter Launched At Rs 1.10 Lakh

Amo Electric, a Noida-based EV startup, has launched its flagship Jaunty Plus electric scooter at Rs 1,10,460 (ex-showroom), pitting it against the TVS iQube (Rs 1.12 lakh) and Okinawa iPraise Plus (Rs 1.05 lakh). Here’s all you need to know about this new e-scooter: –

Battery & Ride Range: Amo Electric has equipped the Jaunty Plus with a 1.265kW BLDC hub motor that draws its charge from a 60V/40Ah advanced lithium-ion battery, capable of delivering a claimed range of over 120km. It takes around 4 hours to juice up its battery with a fast charger. Interestingly, customers can opt for a fixed or portable battery setup.

Design and Underpinning: – The Jaunty Plus electric scooter shares its design and underpinnings with its low-speed version, the Amo Jaunty. That said, it is also based on the high rigid tubular frame, suspended on a telescopic fork upfront and a monoshock at the rear.

Key Features: – Amo has packed the Jaunty Plus with an LED headlight with DRLs, a digital instrument cluster, a USB charging port, an anti-theft system, a combined braking system (CBS), side stand sensor, and a kill switch. It misses out on smartphone connectivity function.

Colour Options: – Amo Electric has offered this new EV in five dual-tone shades: red-black, grey-black, blue-black, white-black, and yellow-black.

Warranty: – Amo Electric offers a standard warranty of 3 years on the vehicle. However, the warranty of the battery has not been disclosed yet. It is likely to be for 1 year.

Author’s Take: – Since Amo Electric is a new company, it is difficult to say anything about the reliability of their products at the moment. But at the price point at which Jaunty Plus has been introduced, there are many other premium electric scooters available in the market such as Ola S1, Bajaj e-Chetak, and TVS iQube that also come with better design and more tech-savvy features.
