All-Electric Mini Cooper SE Finally Hits Our Shores
The Mini Cooper SE has finally been launched in India via the CBU route. Available in a sole, fully loaded trim, it has been priced at Rs 47.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Interestingly, only 30 units of the electrified Cooper were allotted for the first batch and all have already been booked. But there is nothing to worry about as the bookings for the second lot will commence in March 2022.
Mini Cooper SE – Design and Features
The Mini Cooper SE looks largely similar to its ICE counterpart, albeit with a few unique elements such as a larger closed-off front grille, slightly tweaked front bumper, and bright yellow highlights on outside mirrors & new 17-inch alloy wheels. It also sits 15mm higher than its ICE version.
Inside, the all-electric Mini boasts the same dashboard layout as the standard model. However, the yellow highlights continuos inside the cabin as well.
In terms of features, the 3-door electrified hot-hatch comes equipped with premium Nappa leatherette upholstery, a sleek 5.5-inch digital driver’s display, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, Apple Carplay, a heads-up display, a Harman Kardon audio system, ambient lighting, panoramic glass roof, and a host of tactile controls on the console.
Mini Cooper SE – Powertrain
The Cooper SE combines the fabulous go-kart feel with rapid torque and zero emissions. With a maximum output of 184PS and 270Nm, the electric Mini can complete the century sprint in just 7.3 seconds. It is powered by a 32.6kWh battery pack that is claimed to deliver a driving range of up to 270km.
It can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 2.5 hours using an 11kW wall box charger, whereas the 50kW DC fast charger will take 35 minutes for the same. Charging from a conventional power socket will take approximately half a day.
Mini Cooper SE Colour Options
The Mini Cooper SE is available in four colours in India – White Silver, Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey, and British Racing Green.
