Ather has launched the Konarc electric scooter in India at its annual community day, with prices starting from Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). It is the brand’s first product, which is underpinned by the EL-platform, revealed last year. It is available in three variants: S 100, S 125 and S 161, with the numbers in their names representing their claimed range figures. A 200km range version, along with a feature-loaded Z variant with a 125 km range, will also join the lineup in the near future.

Ather Konarc: Battery, Specs, Range and Charging Time
- As the above table indicates, the entry-level S 100 variant gets a 2.1kWh battery, mated to a hub-mounted motor, producing 4kW of max power and 16Nm of torque. On the other hand, the S 125 and S 161 use 2.7kWh and 3.5kWh batteries, respectively, and produce outputs of 4.7kW and 16Nm. Their TrueRange figures on a single charge are 80km, 100km and 130km, respectively.
All of these variants offer a top speed of 70 km/h.

- Regarding charging, the Ather Konarc comes equipped with a 450W onboard charger as standard, which takes around 4 hours to juice up the S 100’s battery pack from 0% to 80%. This is 4 hours 30 mins for the S 125 and 5 hours 40 mins for the S 161 variants.
- Ather states that this onboard charger can be combined with a 900W off-board charger to boost the charging speed, offering a total charging capacity of 1.35 kW. That said, with the combined charger, the above-stated charging times reduce to just 2 hours, 2 hours 25 mins, and 3 hours 10 mins, respectively.Â
Ather Konarc: Platform, Design and Dimensions
- Based on the brand’s scalable EL platform, the Ather Koranc has a wheelbase of 1352mm, the longest of any Ather scooter.
- Riding on 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheels, the Koranc is claimed to offer improved ride comfort & stability, with 90mm front and 100mm rear suspension travel.
- It offers 31 litres of underseat storage across the variant lineup.

- Design-wise, the Konarc looks like a conventional family scooter, featuring a boxy profile somewhat similar to the Ather Rzita.
- Upfront, it gets an LED headlamp mounted on the headbar cowl, whereas the LED DRLs are placed on the apron, with a black opaque panel featuring ATHER lettering.
- It gets a large single-piece seat along with an adjustable pillion backrest.
- What’s more interesting is that the Konarc is the first Ather scooter to have a metal body and a centre stand for added practicality.
- Its kerb weight is rated at 126.5kg for the S 125 and 129kg for the S 161.
