Tata Motors announced that it will increase prices across its portfolio by up to Rs 25,000, covering both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles (EV). The extent of the price increase will vary across models and variants and will be effective 1st September 2026.
According to the brand, this price revision is being undertaken to partially offset the impact of rising input costs and sustained inflationary pressures. One of the key factors behind this is the rising cost of EV batteries, which have increased by around 10 per cent over the past few months. Furthermore, foreign exchange volatility and high employee separation costs have also forced the carmaker to make this move.
Aside from Tata Motors, Hyundai is also set to increase the prices of its cars from next month.
