Royal Enfield has revealed that the new Himalayan 440 will be launched in India on September 4, 2026. It will be positioned between the Scram 440 and Himalayan 450, and will serve as a more affordable, less technological alternative to the Himalayan 450.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 – What To Expect?
- While Royal Enfield hasn’t revealed all the technical details yet, the Himalayan 440 is expected to have a strong focus on off-road capability.
- It is likely to be built on the same platform as the updated Scram 440 in India, using the LS400 engine, which produces 25.4PS of max power at 6250rpm and 34Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm.
- The engine is likely to be paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
- It could feature the same off-road-oriented 21-inch front spoked wheels shod with tubed tyres as the now-discontinued Himalayan 411, better suited to tackle rough terrain and trails.

- Features-wise, it won’t be as loaded as the Himalayan 450. That said, it is likely to keep things relatively simple, much like the Himalayan 411 in terms of technology. This could make the motorcycle easier to operate and potentially more accessible to buyers who do not necessarily want the extensive electronics offered by the Himalayan 450.
- In terms of design, the motorcycle is also expected to retain the adventure-oriented design and ergonomics associated with the Himalayan family.
- Its simple mechanical and electronic package could help Royal Enfield keep costs in check while offering a more affordable entry point into its full-size adventure motorcycle range.
