Hero MotoCorp has launched the flex-fuel versions of its highly popular Splendor+ and HF Deluxe at Rs 82,710 and Rs 72,792, respectively (ex-showroom Delhi). These commuter bikes are fully compatible with ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85. Initially, these Flex Fuel bikes will be introduced in Delhi and select regions of Maharashtra from July 2026, followed by nationwide rollout soon thereafter.
These motorcycles were launched in the presence of Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) and Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), along with Mr Harshavardhan Chitale, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hero MotoCorp, at an event held in New Delhi.
Hero Splendor+ and HF Deluxe Flex Fuel
- Powering both of these siblings’ motorcycles is the brand’s tried-&-tested 97.2cc, single-cylinder petrol engine, which has now been adapted to run on ethanol blends of up to 85%. That said, Hero has revised their ECU calibration and upgraded fuel system components.
- With E85 fuel, the engine is claimed to produce 8.6hp of max power at 8,000rpm and 8.3Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm.
- The engine also benefits from the brand’s patented i3S idle-stop-start technology in the Splendor+ to maximise the fuel saving.
- The other notable amenities of these bikes include a new semi-digital instrument cluster, a side stand engine cut-off, and tubeless tyres.
- Hero has also offered them with a new Black paint option featuring Lime Yellow graphics.

Why Hero Chose These Bikes?
Hero claims that the Splendor+ and HF range together make up nearly one-third of all motorcycles on Indian roads. This makes the introduction of flex-fuel technology particularly significant, as it enters a segment that contributes a major share to India’s overall two-wheeler market.
What Does It Mean For Buyers?
As India transitions towards green fuels, this move demonstrates the brand’s readiness to align with the government’s initiative. Furthermore, being high-volume offerings means buyers need not be overly concerned about the future increase in the percentage of ethanol blending, as these bikes are already E85-compliant. In short, you get the same trusted commuter bikes, now with more economical and future-proof fuel options.
