Tata Motors has started FY2027 on a strong note, selling 59,000 cars in April 2026, witnessing a solid 30% growth compared to last year. SUVs are driving this growth, with models like Nexon, Punch, Harrier, Safari, and the new Sierra together making up 85% of total sales, up from 74% last year.
A big highlight is the new Tata Sierra. Since deliveries began in January 2026, it has already sold over 30,700 units in just a few months, contributing around 12% to Tata’s total SUV sales. It has quickly become the brand’s third-best-selling SUV after Nexon and Punch.
What does this mean for buyers?
Tata’s SUVs are clearly in high demand, especially the Sierra. So, if you’re planning to buy one, expect a high waiting period. For reference, it currently has a waiting period of around 3–4 months, which can vary depending on your location, variant selection and engine option.
