Volkswagen India has finally given the Taigun a much-needed facelift update, bringing subtle design changes, more features and a new automatic transmission option. Most of these changes are in line with the recently launched Skoda Kushaq facelift.
The German carmaker has not revealed an official launch date yet; however, its bookings are now officially open. Deliveries are expected to begin by the end of April or early May.
Exterior Changes: Mini Tiguan R-Line?

- While the silhouette of the Taigun facelift remains the same as its predecessor, it gets major styling changes at the front and rear sections of the SUV. In fact, the updated front design will now remind you of the Tiguan R-Line and Tayron R-Line.
- That said, it features a slimmer grille with a full-width LED light bar and an illuminated logo for a more premium appearance.
- The headlamp cluster has also been revised with a curvier design.
- The front bumper has also been redesigned with black inserts and subtle chrome detailing for a sharper finish.

- VW has also provided the Taigun with new 17-inch alloy wheels to freshen up the side look.
- Towards the rear, the connected LED tail lamps feature updated internal detailing, along with an illuminated brand logo and slightly tweaked bumper for more sophistication.
New Body Shades
- The 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift is offered in nine colour options, two of which are new – Steel Grey and Avocado Pearl.
- The other hues include Candy White, Lava Blue, Wild Cherry Red, Reflex Silver, Deep Black Pearl, Carbon Steel and Carbon Steel Matte.
- Some of them can also be paired with a black roof.
Interior and Features
Things haven’t changed much inside the cabin, except for the introduction of a panoramic sunroof and a larger 10.25-inch digital cluster. However, this time, you get the option of all-black and grey-black cabin themes, depending on the chosen variant.

The other notable additions to the Volkswagen Taigun include: –
- Rear seat massage function
- Ambient lighting
- Turn-by-turn navigation support for the digital cluster
- Updated 10.1-inch infotainment system with AI-based features supported by Google Cloud
Apart from the above-mentioned new amenities, the 2026 Taigun retains most of the features from the outgoing model, including auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6 Speaker sound system, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control, 6-way powered front seats with ventilation function, auto-dimming IRVM, and a wireless phone charger.
Passengers’ safety is ensured by 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold assist, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic differential lock, a tyre pressure monitoring system, front & rear parking sensors, and rear view camera.
