The Mahindra Thar Roxx has received a new Star Edition variant, priced from Rs 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the top-spec AX7 L variant, it comes with exclusive styling upgrades aimed at giving the SUV a more distinctive and premium appeal.

Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition – What’s Special?
As mentioned above, the new Star Edition distinguishes itself from the regular Thar Roxx with a host of cosmetic enhancements inside and outside. These include: –
- Piano-black grille that gives the SUV a bold yet sophisticated status.
- Piano black finish for the 19-inch alloy wheels, giving the SUV a more commanding look.
- All-black leatherette seat with suede accents replacing the light-coloured upholstery of the standard model to elevate the cabin’s ambience and feel.
- A vibrant new hero color Citrine Yellow, adds a distinctive and sporty presence.

On the features front, the SUV remains unchanged from the AX7 trim. Having said that, it continues with amenities like an all-LED lighting system, rear wiper & washer, rear defogger, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, front ventilated seats, tyre direction indicatorm a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, cruise control, multiple terrain modes, auto-dimming IRVM, TPMS and six airbags.
Engine Options
As is clear from the price table, the Thar Roxx Star Edition is available with both a 2-litre turbo-petrol (178HP/380Nm) and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel mill (175HP/400Nm). While the former is available only with a manual gearbox, the latter gets both manual and automatic transmission options. Remarkably, the Star Edition is a rear-wheel-drive-only vehicle and skips the 4×4 system.
Rivals
The Thar Roxx has no direct rival in the country. However, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Force Gurkha can be seen as their close alternatives with robust off-road provenness.
