New-Gen Kia Seltos Teased For The First Time

The Kia Seltos, which is currently in its first generation, received a facelift update in 2023, is now due for a generational update. It is set to be revealed on December 10, 2025, while the launch is expected to take place in January 2026. But ahead of its arrival, the Korean carmaker has teased the front design of the upcoming SUV.

2026 Kia Seltos: How Does It Look?

The teaser hints at a completely new design that may bear no resemblance to the existing model. The SUV now features a rectangular grille and a new split headlamp setup with square housing for the main headlamps and vertical LED strips along the outer edge. The main lighting unit comprises C-shaped, vertical and horizontal LED signatures.

The teaser video also hints at an LED welcome animation function for the DRLs and headlamp unit. The presence of a panoramic sunroof is also evident from the teaser.

2026 New Kia Seltos

The other teaser images of the new Seltos show the side profile of the SUV, revealing flush-fitting door handles, black roof rails, new alloy design and a kinked window line that creates an hourglass-like shape as it merges into the rear windscreen.

Towards the rear, the SUV will get a connected light bar that resembles the one on the Kia Carens Clavis.

Hybrid Powertrain Likely To Debut

While it is not official, the upcoming new-gen Kia Seltos is expected to come with a hybrid powertrain. Currently, it is available with three engine options – 1.5-litre NA petrol, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel, paired with multiple manual and automatic transmission options. The addition of a hybrid setup will make the Seltos a more competitive offering in the rapidly evolving mid-size SUV segment.
