Honda Amaze Secures 5 Star Safety Rating In Bharat NCAP

The third-gen Honda Amaze has recently been crash-tested by the Bharat NCAP and received a perfect 5-star safety rating for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and a 4-star rating for Child Occupant Protection (COP). Earlier, it was crash tested by Global NCAP in 2019 and received 4 stars for AOP and 1 star for COP.

  • The Amaze performed well in the frontal offset deformable barrier test. The head & neck and pelvis regions of both driver and co-passenger were rated “GOOD”.
  • Protection for the chest and tibias for both was rated “ADEQUATE”. However, the driver’s feet god “GOOD” protection.
  • In the side pole and the side movable deformation barrier tests, all the critical body parts of the driver offered ‘GOOD’ protection save for the upper chest, which was rated ‘MARGINAL’.

  • For the child occupant protection tests, both 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies were positioned in a rearward-facing position.
  • During the tests, both dummies received GOOD protection on the head.
  • Strong CRS installation and dynamic scores worked in its flavour, but a poor vehicle assessment score capped the Child Occupant Protection (COP) rating at 4 stars.

Safety Features Onboard

The Honda Amaze comes loaded with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchors tyre pressure monitoring system, and front & rear parking sensors. Its higher variants also get LaneWatch monitoring system, optional 360-degree camera (dealer-fitment) and segment-first ADAS suite.

Price and Competitors

Honda offers the Amaze in three variants (V, VX and ZX), with prices ranging from between 7.41 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It goes up against the Maruti Dzire, Tata Tigor and Hyundai Aura.
