Icon Reborn: Tata Sierra Launched At Rs 11.49 Lakh

We’ve all been waiting for the Sierra nameplate to make a comeback, and Tata Motors has finally launched the iconic SUV at a starting price of Rs 11.49 akh (ex-showroom). And it’s not just the badge that has returned; the new Sierra packs a host of first-ever features for Tata, along with the brand’s all-new petrol engines.

Bookings for the Sierra will begin on December 15, while deliveries are scheduled to begin on January 15, 2026. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2025 Tata Sierra: –

Iconic DNA, Modern Interpretation

The new Tata Sierra boasts a bold and futuristic design language. It retains the boxy design and the iconic Alpine window that manages to catch your eye. Upfront, the SUV gets slim connected LED lighting elements, along with a gloss black grille featuring “SIERRA” branding, and a chunky bumper with a silver skid plate, giving it a modern appeal.

From the sides, it boasts a clean, streamlined silhouette and what sweetens its overall look is the Alpine styling windows that bring back the OG Sierra charm but in a more modern and sophisticated way. You also get flush-fitting door handles and the segment’s largest 19-inch dual-tone alloys that go well with the SUV’s overall boxy and upright proportions.

Towards the rear, it has a flat tailgate, featuring a connected LED lighting system and a rugged bumper with plenty of gloss black finishes and a silver skid plate.

Interior and Features

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the Sierra has one of the most distinctive and premium-looking interiors in the segment, featuring a layered dashboard layout and a segment-first triple screen setup. The dashboard and door pads have soft-touch materials and fabric inserts, adding to its premium quotient. You also get a 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, large windows, and a massive 1525mm long panoramic sunroof.

Spacious Cabin

The Tata Sierra clearly positions itself as a segment leader in space and ergonomics. It offers a commanding seating position with a driver eye-point of 1344 mm, higher than typical mid-size SUVs (around 1305 mm) and even comparable luxury SUVs (1348 mm). Its driver H-point of 342 mm also sits above most rivals, helping deliver a more upright, SUV-like posture. Rear comfort is another strong suit—Sierra’s second-row gangway space of 316 mm significantly surpasses mid-SUVs (≈216 mm) and even some premium SUVs (≈207–210 mm), translating into easier ingress/egress and superior cabin movement.

Tata Sierra dimensions

Even in capability metrics, the Sierra punches above its class with an approach angle of 26.5°, ramp-over of 23.1°, departure angle of 31.6°, and 205 mm ground clearance, putting it ahead of many mid and high SUVs in rough-road geometry.
