Toyota Fortuner Reimagined For New Age

Toyota has recently unveiled the new-gen Hilux, featuring a major design overhaul, new features and, for the first time, an electric powertrain. And since the Hilux is a pickup truck sibling of the Fortuner, here’s how its new-gen version could look.

Modern Makeover, Fortuner DNA Intact

Reimagined by BR TOP CAR, the reimaged new-gen Toyota Fortuner features a bold new design taking inspiration from Toyota’s latest global styling seen on the new-gen Hilux.

At first glance, the SUV looks more modern and athletic than the current model, with a wider stance and sharper lines that give it a premium yet rugged road presence.

Upfront, the sleek LED headlamps sit high and are connected by a gloss black trim featuring “TOYOTA” lettering in the middle. Below it is the new honeycomb-patterned grille, complemented by a muscular bumper and triangular air intakes that enhance the SUV’s strong character. The sculpted bonnet further adds to its tough appeal.

From the side, the squared-off wheel arches, high shoulder line, and blacked-out pillars create a solid, planted look. The alloy wheels featuring a more intricate, premium design add to its upscale feel. The long window line and slightly tapered rear section hint at improved cabin space while maintaining the Fortuner’s classic SUV proportions.

Rugged Interior

Inside, the Fortuner could get the same dashboard layout as seen in the ninth-gen Hilux, featuring the LC-like rugged, layered layout. The dash is likely to be dominated by a large 12.3-inch floating touchscreen, giving the cockpit an upscale feel. It is paired with a 12.3-inch fully digital driver’s display, replacing the existing analogue dials. Below the infotainment are the horizontal centre AC vents.

The centre console is tall and chunky, featuring well-placed physical toggles, a compact drive selector, and dual-zone climate control, all arranged to give the driver a commanding, SUV-appropriate feel.

Diesel Engine Likely To Be Axed

While it’s not official, Toyota is expected to replace the diesel mill with a strong-hybrid petrol engine. Besides, a 48V mild-hybrid system could also be introduced with the existing 2.7-litre petrol engine.

Expected Price and Launch

The new-gen Toyota Fortuner is likely to make its global debut sometime in 2026 and could be priced from Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
