Vida VX2 Electric Scooter Launched At Rs 59,490

Hero Vida has launched its most affordable family scooter, the VX2, at a starting price of Rs 59,540 (ex-showroom) with the battery subscription model. It is available in two variants: Go and Plus.

Under the BaaS program, customers buy the scooter and pay separately for the battery usage. Hero claims its running cost is just Rs 0.96/km. Plus, if the battery performance drops below 70%, Hero will replace it for free.

Hero Vida VX2 – Battery, Charging Time, Range and Performance

  • As mentioned above, the VX2 is being offered with two battery pack options: a 2.2 kWh unit for the Go variant and a 3.4 kWh unit for the Plus variant.
  • The Plus variant actually gets two removable batteries with a total capacity of 3.4 kWh and a claimed range of 142 km. This variant takes around 5 hours and 39 minutes to get fully charged from its supplied 580W home charger.
  • On the other hand, the Go variant gets a single 2.2 kWh removable battery that has an IDC range of 92km. It can be charged from 0 to 100% in just 3 hours and 43 minutes.
  • Both variants also support fast charging and can be juiced 0-80% in up to 2 hours.
  • Top speed for the VX2 Go and Plus variants stands at 70 kmph and 80 kmph, respectively.
  • For propulsion duties, the Vida VX2 gets a 6kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM).

Hero Vida VX2 – Design and Colour Options

  • Unlike the Vida V2, which gets an aggressive, sporty design, the VX2 flaunts a more family-oriented styling with smooth flowing lines and creases. However, it uses the same lighting setup as the V2.
  • Hero Vida offers it in seven colour options: Nexus Blue, Metallic Grey, Matte White, Autumn Orange, Matte Lime, Pearl Black, and Pearl Red.
  • The Metallic Grey and Autumn Orange shades are limited to the Vida VX2 Plus variant.

Hero Vida VX2 – Underpinnings and Features

  • The VX2 is built on the same tubular frame as the Vida V2.
  • It features 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends.
  • Suspension setup includes a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear.
  • Depending on the variant, it comes with either a front disc or drum and rear drum brake, equipped with CBS (Combined Braking System) for added safety.
  • Seat height stands at a comfortable 777mm.
  • Thanks to the single battery pack, the VX2 Go gets a larger 33.2 litres of underseat storage, whereas the VX2 Plus gets only 27.2 litres of boot. However, both trims get a 6.1 litres of front cubby hole.

  • Other notable features include all-LED lighting systems, a mechanical key, a 4.3-inch LCD for the Go and a 4.3-inch TFT display for the Plus variant, turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, real-time range and ride data, USB charging port, remote immobilisation, GPS-based live location tracking, and much more.
  • The Go variant offers two riding modes – Eco and Ride, while the Plus variant adds a third, Sport mode, on top of these.
