Hyundai Verna Gets A New SX+ Variant At Rs 13.79 Lakh

Hyundai has introduced a new SX+ variant of the Verna at Rs 13.79 lakh for the manual and Rs 15.04 lakh for the CVT automatic trim (both ex-showroom). It borrows many advanced features from the SX (O) variant, making them more accessible for buyers. Hyundai has also taken this opportunity to introduce a wired-to-wireless adapter for select variants of the mid-size sedan, enabling wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Hyundai Verna SX+

  • Positioned between the SX and SX (O) trim, the new SX+ variant offers amenities such as leather seats, an 8-speaker BOSE sound system, and front ventilated & heated seats over the SX variant. Earlier, these features were limited to the top-spec SX (O) variant.
  • The other notable features of the new Hyundai Verna SX+ variant include LED headlamps, cornering lamps, horizon LED positioning lamps & DRLs, rear spoiler, sharkfin antenna, leather wrapped steering, height adjustable driver seat, adjustable headrests, front & rear armrests, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, colored TFT, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paddle hifters, electric sunroof, auto AC, rear AC vents, cooled glovebox, wireless charger, ambient lighting, cruise control, type C charging ports, power adjustable & foldable side mirrors.
  • Safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control, hill assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, electrochromic mirror, rear defogger, front & rear parking sensors, rear camera, and much more.
  • Compared to the higher-spec SX (O) trim, it misses out on amenities like soft touch finish on door trims and crashpad, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, connected car tech, powered driver’s seat, air purifier, rear curtains, and ADAS suite.
  • Hyundai has offered the new SX+ trim with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (115PS/143Nm) that can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed CVT. It claims an ARAI fuel efficiency of 19.6 kmpl with CVT and 18.6 kmpl with a manual gearbox.

Wired-to-wireless Adapter

Hyundai has also introduced a wired-to-wireless adapter for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Priced at Rs 4,500, it is compatible only with the SX Turbo, SX(O) Turbo, and SX(O) variants, which get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment. The other trims, save for the base, get an 8-inch unit, which already supports wireless smartphone connectivity.
